Satyananda Das is known for his rich repertoire of old Baul songs, tradition-based improvisation, and dynamic-delicate dance. He has put melodies to many Bhaba Pagla’s poems, which have been loved and sung by many other singers as well. Satyananda travelled and performed widely across India and abroad. He accompanies himself with the instruments ektara, duggi and ghunghur.
Lakshman Das was born in 1973 in the village of Arowa. In his early childhood, he took great interest in singing and music. Observing Lakshman’s interest, when he was seven years old, both his father and teacher brought him to a famous Baul master Shudhir Goshai’s Ashram. He was initiated by Sudhir Goshai into the Baul path. Since then, he has always stayed with Sudhir Goshai and learned from him as a spiritually adopted child. Lakshman is a vibrant performer well known for his magnificent energetic performances. He accompanies himself with the instruments anandalahari and dotara while he sings. He has performed in many parts of India, and in countries such as France, Taiwan, Switzerland, and Bangladesh.
