SALOME

SALOME

National Theatre, Budapest, Hungary

Director: Diana Dobreva

1 hours 50 minutes, without breaks.

The tragedy of the English author, famous for his irony and comedies, presented in 1893 – originally in French – takes the viewer to New Testament times, as it is known: the title character demanded the head of János Keresztelő in exchange for his overheated dance as the stepdaughter of Herodes Antipas. The biblical story is staged at the Nemzeti by a contemporary Bulgarian director of the poetic theater.
